SYNOPSIS
Jesus Emilio has to learn to love women and be a man. Why? Because he himself has decided he must. In his hair salon, he spends his time listening to his clients' problems, advising them on their love lives, and putting himself in their shoes after they've made an unfortunate decision.
And yet, not even his dedication to his business, his generosity in the kitchen, or his sewing skills have been enough to earn the understanding and respect of his neighbors. Why? He has a past and it torments him: Stefany. His own self.
After living and being accepted as Stefany Martínez Ibarguen, our protagonist decides to return to life as Jesus Emilio and face this decision in a close-knit, homophobic, and marginalized community in the region of Chocó, Colombia.
This portrait of everyday life unites these two characters around several questions: Where is one’s true self? Does it exist? Or is the sum total of all our layers?
